Staff Product Manager, Global Expansion
Stripe is seeking a Staff Product Manager to lead its India business strategy and product roadmap. This role involves owning growth, go-to-market, and product execution for India, aiming to serve the country's rapidly evolving digital economy and support Indian companies scaling globally. The position is pivotal in capturing significant market opportunities in one of the world's fastest-growing markets.
Key responsibilities include defining the vision and prioritizing initiatives for India's product strategy, leading cross-functional teams to deliver tailored product features and commercial programs, and designing rapid experiments to launch localized features and pricing. The role also involves understanding Indian merchants, platforms, PSPs, gateways, regulators, and payment rails to translate market dynamics into product differentiation and commercial opportunities. Additionally, the position focuses on building products that simplify global sales for Indian businesses and partnering with business development teams to scale strategic integrations.
The ideal candidate has over 12 years of experience in product management or equivalent roles, with demonstrated leadership in payments, fintech, marketplaces, or developer platform products. Deep knowledge of the Indian payments and commerce ecosystem, including local payment methods, banks, and regulatory landscape, is essential. A proven track record of shipping localized products and scaling go-to-market strategies in India or similar emerging markets is required. Strong analytical skills, comfort with ambiguity, excellent communication abilities, and a customer-focused approach are also necessary.
Preferred qualifications include experience with cross-border payments, currency conversion, payouts, or compliance for global trade. Prior work with developer platforms, SDKs/APIs, or businesses serving platforms and marketplaces is advantageous. Experience liaising with regulators or navigating complex compliance requirements is also beneficial.
