Collaborating closely with leads, designers, and product managers, you will design, develop, and deploy solutions that deliver accessible experiences worldwide. Additionally, you will mentor engineers, champion accessibility best practices company-wide, and shape technical direction to embed accessibility into Canva's strategic roadmap.
The ideal candidate is an experienced technical leader with a passion for writing code and delivering impactful solutions. You should possess deep expertise in accessibility engineering, including familiarity with WCAG 2.2 AA, ATAG 2.0, and universal design principles, along with a nuanced understanding of different disability models. Strong frontend skills in JavaScript, React, TypeScript, and MobX are essential, as well as solid computer science fundamentals in architecture and design patterns. Strategic thinking, a track record of delivering high-impact projects with minimal guidance, and the ability to mentor others and elevate engineering standards are also key qualifications.
At Canva, we offer equity packages to ensure our success is shared with our team members. Our inclusive parental leave policy supports all parents and carers, and we provide an annual Vibe & Thrive allowance to support your wellbeing, social connection, and office setup. Flexible leave options empower you to take time to recharge and support your personal needs, fostering a healthy work-life balance.
Joining Canva means becoming part of a team that values innovation, inclusivity, and continuous learning. We are committed to creating accessible experiences for all users and staying ahead of accessibility trends and standards.
