Staff Data Scientist
Roofr, a rapidly growing company specializing in roofing software solutions, is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to join their remote team in Canada. This role offers the opportunity to transform raw data into strategic insights that drive business growth and enhance customer experiences. As a Staff Data Scientist, you will collaborate closely with senior leadership and a skilled data and analytics team to implement data science and experimentation initiatives across sales, marketing, and product domains.
In this position, your key responsibilities will include designing optimization analyses and forecasts to identify opportunities across various teams, such as Growth, Strategy, Revenue, Marketing, and Product. You will work directly with executive leadership to translate complex analyses into actionable decisions and process improvements. Additionally, you will develop counterfactual analyses and A/B tests to facilitate data-driven evolution of user experience, product features, and customer satisfaction. Building data applications to automate and enhance sales and marketing processes will also be a significant part of your role. You will manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring autonomy in decision-making and execution. Furthermore, you will contribute to the organization's semantic layer and DBT models, ensuring a unified data source for analyses. Creating data science frameworks, templates, and guides for use by other data practitioners across the organization will also be part of your duties.
To be considered for this role, candidates should have over seven years of experience in data science within a dynamic business environment, demonstrating a proven ability to manage complex, high-stakes problems. Hands-on experience with modern cloud data stacks, including Snowflake and DBT, is essential. Proficiency in various BI tools such as Sigma, Looker, Metabase, or similar is required. Strong skills in SQL and statistical modeling, with a track record of building forecasting and causal inference models, are necessary. A passion for documentation and version control using Git is important to enable others to build upon your work. An appreciation for scalable data models and contributing to a shared semantic layer is also crucial. The ability to balance between developing quick analyses or applications and building scalable, production-grade products is highly valued.
The compensation for this role ranges from CAD 140,000 to CAD 160,000 annually. Roofr offers a comprehensive benefits package, including 100% employer-paid premiums for extended healthcare and dental in Canada, flexible paid time off, and a generous parental leave policy. Additional perks include a home office setup stipend, internet and phone allowances, and a remote-first work culture. Employees also enjoy weekly Friday paydays and an annual company retreat with team-building activities.
Roofr is committed to fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. As a Staff Data Scientist, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the company's growth and success. The role offers substantial growth potential, equity options, and the chance to contribute to the development of cutting-edge roofing software solutions. If you are passionate about data science and eager to drive meaningful change in a high-growth company, this opportunity at Roofr may be the perfect fit.
