Staff Data Scientist, Firefox
Mozilla is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to join the Firefox Data Science team, focusing on enhancing the growth and user engagement of Firefox, the privacy-centric web browser. This role involves close collaboration with Product and Engineering teams to inform strategic decisions and drive the long-term success of Firefox.
The Staff Data Scientist will lead the analytical strategy for a major product area, identifying key questions, defining success metrics, and guiding data-driven decisions. Responsibilities include designing and overseeing experiments, developing measurement frameworks, and providing actionable recommendations to influence product roadmaps and resource allocation. Additionally, the role involves mentoring other data scientists and establishing standards for measurement and learning within the team.
Candidates should have at least 8 years of experience in data science or analytics, with a proven track record of shaping product strategy through data. Expertise in experimentation and causal inference, advanced proficiency in SQL and Python, and experience in defining and owning product metrics are essential. Strong communication skills and the ability to lead complex, cross-functional analytical initiatives are also required.
