Sr. Software Engineer
Backblaze is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Storage Platform team, focusing on enhancing the durability and throughput of their data storage system. This role involves driving architectural changes to improve customer service and support the long-term requirements of Backblaze's services.
In this position, you will work on the storage platform that supports the B2 Object Storage and Computer Backup products, ensuring the reliable storage of customer data. Your responsibilities will include improving system durability, increasing throughput, and implementing architectural changes to meet the evolving needs of the service.
The ideal candidate will have over seven years of experience in object-oriented programming (Java, Rust, C++, C#, etc.) within an enterprise environment. Experience in building large-scale software systems operating on thousands of servers is essential. Proficiency in Java or Rust is preferred, along with familiarity with hard drive performance and an understanding of Linux internals and file systems.
