The Senior Counsel, Litigation at SpaceX will represent the company in a variety of litigation matters both domestically and internationally. This role is integral to managing legal disputes and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, contributing to SpaceX's mission of enabling human life on Mars.

Key responsibilities include managing all facets of labor and employment, consumer, contractual, and commercial disputes, as well as third-party discovery. The role involves conducting internal investigations, directing litigation strategy, drafting and reviewing discovery requests, pleadings, and briefs, negotiating settlements, and participating in trials and arbitration hearings. Additionally, the Senior Counsel will provide feedback from litigation experiences to identify and mitigate legal risks and implement appropriate controls.

Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and have at least seven years of experience as a practicing attorney, including roles in law firms, in-house legal departments, or government agencies. Essential qualifications include litigation experience with trial or arbitration hearings and other in-court proceedings. Preferred qualifications encompass first or second chair trial experience, graduation from a top-tier law school with strong academic performance, and significant experience in areas such as employment, commercial disputes, consumer disputes, products liability, personal injury, international litigation, or environmental litigation. Prior in-house experience or client relationships with high-growth companies, the ability to work cross-functionally, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are also desirable.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $235,000 to $290,000 per year, with actual compensation determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
