SpaceX is seeking a Corporate Counsel to provide comprehensive legal support within its dynamic and innovative environment. This role is integral to the company's mission of advancing space technology and enabling human life on Mars. The Corporate Counsel will collaborate closely with various internal teams, including Finance and Engineering, to address complex legal and business challenges.

In this position, the Corporate Counsel will be responsible for managing securities law compliance, corporate governance, and board support. Key duties include modernizing board processes, committee charters, and governance policies, as well as implementing compliance frameworks for securities laws and regulations. The role also involves collaborating with Finance and Accounting teams on internal controls and audit compliance, managing securities offerings and stock financings, advising on equity compensation matters, and negotiating corporate transactions in close cooperation with the in-house finance team. Additionally, the Corporate Counsel will draft, negotiate, and review a broad range of commercial agreements.

Candidates should possess a Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school and have a minimum of five years of corporate law experience. In-house counsel experience is preferred, along with the ability to register as in-house counsel in California. Experience working for a top-tier law firm and representing mature private and public companies is advantageous. Proficiency in securities law compliance and complex corporate structures and transactions is essential. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and responsive to rapid developments and changes, capable of working with diverse technologies and products, and adept at addressing novel legal issues.

The compensation package for this role includes a base salary ranging from $190,000 to $245,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to the base salary, employees may be eligible for long-term incentives, such as company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards. Potential discretionary bonuses and the opportunity to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan are also available. Employees accrue three weeks of paid vacation and are eligible for ten or more paid holidays per year.
