The SOX IT Controls Lead at Stripe is a pivotal role within the Internal Controls over Financial Reporting Compliance function, part of the Chief Accounting Organization. This position is integral to building investor confidence by implementing a robust Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) program. The role involves close collaboration with the Technology Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) team to oversee IT systems' internal controls across all in-scope SOX systems, IT policies, procedures, change management, access, job scheduling/operations, and project management.

Key responsibilities include providing strategic guidance on identifying gaps in IT and third-party application controls, preparing and maintaining detailed SOX IT documentation, analyzing internal controls for adequacy, and coordinating IT General Controls (ITGC) and SOX-related activities with various stakeholders. The role also involves updating and aligning IT processes, systems, controls, and policies to industry standards, managing the testing of ITGCs and third-party application controls, and acting as a hands-on leader and SOX compliance subject matter expert.

The ideal candidate should have over 12 years of experience in managing and/or assessing SOX programs, with a background in a highly automated environment, preferably within a technology company. A Bachelor's degree is required, with a Master's degree being a plus, in fields such as Accounting, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related disciplines. Technical certifications like CPA, CIA, or CISA are also required. Experience in implementing internal controls in early-stage public companies is strongly preferred, along with strong communication skills and the ability to manage concurrent workstreams independently.

The annual US base salary range for this role is $165,900 to $248,900. Additional benefits may include equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses, 401(k) plan, medical, dental, and vision benefits, and wellness stipends. Office-assigned employees are expected to spend at least 50% of their time in their local office or with users, with specific expectations varying by role, team, and location.
