Solutions Engineer - Fed Gov
Smartsheet is seeking a Solutions Engineer to join its Go to Market Enterprise Public Sector Federal Government team. This role involves partnering directly with Sales to provide technical leadership throughout the sales process, offering value-based demonstrations, and serving as a trusted advisor to prospects and clients. The position is remote, based on the East Coast, and focuses on empowering teams to automate workflows and scale smarter.
Key responsibilities include identifying, building, and demonstrating Smartsheet solutions tailored to specific customer problems. The Solutions Engineer will lead technical sales engagements, collaborate closely with sales teams to identify customer requirements, design solutions, and provide technical guidance that showcases the value of Smartsheet's offerings. Additionally, the role involves conducting discovery sessions to uncover business processes and challenges, partnering with various teams to enhance the customer experience, and periodically traveling to customer sites as a technical subject matter expert.
Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience as a PreSales Solutions Engineer, Solutions Consultant, Solution Architect, or in a related field within the SaaS and enterprise B2B software industry. Essential skills include critical thinking, a growth mindset, strong technical abilities, and excellent communication and presentation skills. The role requires the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences, along with a commitment to excellence and relentless curiosity.
Smartsheet offers a competitive base salary range of $117,500 to $142,500 USD, along with employer-subsidized medical, vision, and dental coverage for full-time employees.
