Solution Architect, Legal Billing
The Solution Architect, Legal Billing at Litify is a pivotal role within the Professional Services team, focusing on the time, billing, and financial aspects of client implementations. This position requires a strong background in accounting and software implementation to design and deliver efficient billing workflows for law firms using the Litify platform. The role involves direct collaboration with firm billing teams, finance staff, and partners to understand their current processes and translate them into effective solutions.
Key responsibilities include leading discovery sessions with client billing and finance teams to map existing time and expense capture methods, designing billing setups on Litify and Salesforce, configuring time and expense capture systems, building pre-bill review and approval workflows, setting up e-billing for clients requiring it, designing accounts receivable and collections processes, delivering financial reporting, planning and supporting migration of open work-in-progress and accounts receivable balances from legacy systems, configuring and testing solutions, and providing training and go-live support.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a CPA license or CPA-eligible status preferred. A minimum of three years of hands-on experience in law firm billing or finance, or at a legal time and billing software company, is required. This experience should include knowledge of time and expense entry, rate management, fee arrangements, pre-bill review and adjustments, invoicing, e-billing, client billing guidelines, accounts receivable and collections, work-in-progress and realization reporting, and trust accounting basics. Additionally, at least three years of experience implementing or consulting on time, billing, or financial software is necessary, covering discovery, requirements gathering, configuration, data migration, user acceptance testing, and go-live support. Proficiency with SQL or ETL tools for loading and validating financial data, and understanding system integrations, is also important.
The position is fully remote, with the exception of employees residing in New York City and New Jersey, who adhere to a hybrid schedule involving working in the Manhattan office six days a month. The estimated base salary for this role is $120,000, with additional bonuses and benefits offered.
