Software Engineer, Payments and Risk

Stripe is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Payments and Risk team, focusing on developing products and platforms that enable users to accept payments efficiently and minimize financial and regulatory risks. This role offers the opportunity to impact millions of Stripe users by building APIs, services, and systems that handle billions of money movement requests.

In this position, you will design, build, and maintain APIs and services across Stripe's engineering teams, debug production issues, and collaborate with engineers to develop new features at large scale. You will also work to improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes to enhance the overall development workflow.

The ideal candidate has a strong technical background with 4 to 12 years of experience building APIs, thinks about systems and services holistically, and writes high-quality code. You should hold yourself and others to a high standard when working with production systems and thrive in a collaborative environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts.
