Software Engineer, Monetization

Upstart is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Monetization team, which focuses on optimizing loan offers by balancing customer appeal, lender requirements, and capital availability. The team employs machine learning and real-time decision engines to deliver accurate, personalized pricing at scale, enhancing the borrower experience.

In this role, you will design, build, and maintain real-time services that compute origination fees and filter offers. You will develop scalable systems supporting experimentation and rapid response to market changes, collaborate with cross-functional partners to drive smarter pricing decisions, and ensure the security and performance of critical pricing platforms.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, with at least three years of experience in backend or full-stack software development, focusing on distributed systems and APIs. Proficiency in languages such as Kotlin, Python, PostgreSQL, or Ruby on Rails is required, along with experience in cloud platforms and microservices architecture.
