Software Engineer I, Twitch Chat
As a Software Engineer I on the Twitch Chat team, you will be instrumental in enhancing the performance and user experience of Twitch's mobile applications. This role focuses on frontend development using React, with additional responsibilities in supporting and maintaining backend systems. You will collaborate closely with product managers, technical leads, and other engineers to design, develop, launch, and operate interactive experiences that connect communities worldwide.
Your primary responsibilities will include investigating, instrumenting, and resolving performance issues to ensure faster mobile experiences. You will build distributed applications at scale and work collaboratively with both your team and related teams to foster a shared understanding of solving common problems and delivering effective solutions. Additionally, you will work backward from customer problems to drive significant business impact.
The ideal candidate will have at least one year of professional software development experience, with prior experience in building consumer-facing products at scale. Proficiency in modern languages and frameworks such as React, Kotlin, Swift, or Objective-C is essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, along with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Compensation for this position includes a base salary range of $127,100 to $185,000 USD, along with sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
