Software Engineer - Cloud Native & Microservices (AWS)
Experian is seeking an enthusiastic Software Engineer to join our Credit & Verification Services team, focusing on cloud modernization initiatives. As part of the high-performance Ascend Cloud Foundation Platform team, you will collaborate with fellow engineers to maintain existing systems and develop cloud-native microservices and web applications using the latest technologies and architectural patterns.
In this role, you will work within an agile team to deliver high-quality software solutions aligned with business requirements and agile principles. Your responsibilities include translating business needs into clean, scalable code with minimal defects, collaborating closely with cross-functional team members to design, develop, test, and release software, and fostering a culture of continuous integration, delivery, and improvement. Additionally, you will integrate DevSecOps practices into the development lifecycle to ensure code quality and security, utilizing static code analysis and security scanning tools, and provide clear documentation for code, processes, and system architecture to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintainability.
The ideal candidate possesses 1 to 4 years of hands-on experience in software engineering, with a degree in Computer Science or a related field. A proven track record in building secure, mission-critical, high-volume transaction web-based systems in regulated environments is essential. Technical expertise should include proficiency Java (Spring/Micronaut/Quarkus), or Go for developing high-quality, scalable, secure APIs within microservices architectures. Experience with unit and integration testing frameworks, Test-Driven Development (TDD), Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), clean architecture, SOLID principles, design patterns, and familiarity with both NoSQL and SQL databases are also required. Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker, orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, version control systems like Git, and fundamental understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices are highly desirable.
