Corporate Counsel, Consumer Services
Experian is seeking a dedicated Corporate Counsel to join its North American Consumer Services (ECS) legal team. This role involves providing comprehensive legal support for ECS, a $1.7 billion business serving over 80 million consumer members. The position is based in Costa Mesa, California, and reports to the Senior Vice President, Head of Legal – Consumer Services.
The Corporate Counsel will be responsible for advising on a broad range of legal matters related to financial wellness, credit education, and identity protection products. Key duties include assessing and interpreting existing and emerging laws and regulations, conducting legal risk assessments, and performing regulatory reviews for new products, features, and marketing initiatives. The role also involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex agreements, including strategic alliances and FinTech partnerships.
Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and be licensed to practice law in relevant jurisdictions. A minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience in a large law firm and/or in-house setting is required. Experience with financial services and FinTech regulations and/or transactions is essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the highest standards of diligence in handling legal matters and have experience in highly regulated industries.
Experian offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $153,075 to $275,535, along with a bonus plan.
