Snr. Employee Relations Partner (Hybrid)
The Snr. Employee Relations Partner at KnowBe4 is a pivotal role within the People team, focusing on fostering a high-performance culture and mitigating organizational risks across various business sectors. This position serves as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for U.S. People Managers, addressing disciplinary matters, workplace conflicts, and employee grievances. The role involves close collaboration with Employment Legal, client-facing HR Business Partners, and Senior Executives to deliver legally sound, strategic solutions to critical workforce issues in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in labor compliance, maintain exceptional documentation practices, and remain calm and objective in high-stakes situations to ensure professional fairness across the organization.
Key responsibilities include serving as the primary point of contact for U.S. People Managers regarding employee grievances, corrective action alignment, and workplace conflict resolution. The role also involves independently leading and managing complex, sensitive workplace investigations from end-to-end for U.S. operations, including allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, misconduct, policy breaches, and workplace violence. Additional duties encompass interviewing witnesses, collecting and evaluating evidence, drafting comprehensive investigation reports, and delivering objective, actionable recommendations to leadership. The position requires applying advanced expertise in U.S. federal, state, and local labor laws to ensure compliance and partnering directly with the Employment Legal department, HR Business Partners, and Senior Executives on high-stakes escalations. Proactively monitoring and analyzing employee relations metrics, ticket trends, and attrition data within the HRIS to design targeted risk-mitigation strategies is also a key aspect of the role. Furthermore, the Snr. Employee Relations Partner will partner with HR Business Partners and Executives to provide expert coaching on the corrective action process, conflict resolution, and performance management execution, as well as draft and execute disciplinary actions, up to and including terminations, ensuring thorough and accurate documentation within the HRIS. The role also involves designing, drafting, and administering proactive company-wide Employee Relations policies and developing and delivering targeted training sessions for U.S. managers on performance management and documentation best practices.
Candidates should have over five years of overall HR experience, with a minimum of three years dedicated specifically to Employee Relations, including a proven track record of leading complex U.S.-based investigations from start to finish. At least two years of customer service or client-facing experience (which can be outside of HR) paired with a high degree of business acumen and operational urgency are also required. A deep understanding of U.S. federal, state, and local employment laws—including Title VII, ADA, and ADEA—with direct experience partnering with employment legal counsel is essential. Exceptional documentation practices, a thorough understanding of dispute resolution methodologies, and strong critical thinking skills are necessary. Candidates should demonstrate a high level of precision and detail-orientation, ensuring clear stakeholder communication and seamless cross-functional collaboration. A Bachelor’s degree in Employee Relations, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) is required, along with proficiency with Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs) and MS Office (Word, Excel).
