Your primary responsibilities will include designing and maintaining reliable, scalable integrations between tax platforms and critical business systems. You will drive automation initiatives across the tax technology landscape to reduce manual effort and strengthen operational efficiency. Additionally, you will design and maintain SOX/ITGC controls, support audit readiness, and ensure robust governance across all tax systems and integrations. Partnering with Tax, Accounting, Engineering, Technical Program Managers, and external vendors, you will shape Canva’s long-term tax systems roadmap. You will also lead sandbox strategy, release orchestration, regression testing, and platform change management across quarterly release cycles. Building scalable documentation, runbooks, and operational processes to empower Canva’s Finance teams will be a key aspect of your role.

A strong understanding of global indirect tax obligations, including VAT/GST, US sales tax, digital services taxes, marketplace facilitator rules, and e-invoicing ecosystems such as PEPPOL, is required. Experience in SOX/ITGC controls, audit support, evidence management, and change governance practices across enterprise systems is also necessary. The ability to translate technical complexity into clear, actionable insights for Finance, Tax, and leadership stakeholders is crucial. Thriving in high-growth, fast-moving environments where ambiguity is part of the journey and collaboration is key to success is essential.
