Senior Systems Engineer, Event Detection and Response
May Mobility is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer specializing in Event Detection and Response to enhance the safety and performance of our autonomous vehicle systems. This role is integral to our mission of transforming urban mobility through innovative autonomous technology.
The Senior Systems Engineer will design, implement, and maintain event detectors that identify critical system events from vehicle log data. Responsibilities include supporting safety risk assessments, collaborating with data engineering and simulation teams to integrate event detectors into automated pipelines, and developing system-level concepts for autonomous vehicle features. Additionally, the role involves defining and maintaining system and subsystem requirements and analyzing large-scale vehicle log datasets to inform engineering and safety teams.
Candidates should have 3–5 years of experience in automotive or robotics engineering, with at least 2 years focused on autonomous driving systems. A strong understanding of automotive and autonomous vehicle technologies, hands-on experience with signal- or rule-based detectors, and proficiency in data analysis using Python and SQL are essential. Familiarity with autonomous vehicle simulation platforms and experience in requirements management are also required.
