Senior Structural Project Engineer
Benesch is seeking a Senior Structural Project Engineer to join their Wilkes-Barre, PA office. This role involves leading bridge replacement and rehabilitation projects, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to the growth of the structural engineering team. The position offers a hybrid work schedule, combining in-office and remote work.
Key responsibilities include serving as the lead engineer on various bridge projects, preparing and reviewing structural and geometrical calculations, and managing the compilation and coordination of plans, specifications, cost estimates, and pay items in accordance with PennDOT/PTC standards. The role also involves preparing and reviewing bridge load rating reports, planning and performing bridge inspections, and coordinating these tasks with the Project Manager.
The ideal candidate will hold a B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline and possess a PE License in Pennsylvania or the ability to obtain one through reciprocity. A minimum of 8 years of experience in bridge design, load rating, and inspection is required. Experience working with PennDOT, PA Turnpike, PTC, and/or municipalities is preferred. Strong communication and client relation skills, as well as proficiency in developing contracts and utilizing MicroStation Connects, Open Roads, and Open Bridge Design software, are essential.
