Senior Software Engineer, iOS, Monetization

Duolingo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in iOS development to join our Monetization team in Beijing, China. This role focuses on enhancing Duolingo's key business drivers—subscriptions, ads, and in-app purchases—by developing and refining methods to make our monetization efforts more effective and efficient. As a senior iOS Engineer, you will play an instrumental role in the strategic direction of Duolingo by collaborating cross-functionally with product, design, data science, machine learning, and ad operations teams.

In this position, you will be responsible for developing, releasing, and maintaining native iOS applications primarily using Swift. You will collaborate on software projects that involve product design and backend aspects, ensuring seamless integration and functionality. Additionally, you will mentor and set technical direction for junior engineers across the company, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, with a solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design. Proficiency in Swift programming is essential, along with strong technical knowledge of iOS mobile application development for iPhone/iPad using Swift with Cocoa Touch and related frameworks. Experience designing clean and maintainable APIs, multithreaded programming, writing unit tests, and knowledge of iOS SDK performance tools and optimization techniques are highly desirable.

Compensation for this role includes a base salary ranging from ¥804,949 to ¥1,088,971 per year, supplemented by equity compensation.
