The Senior Software Engineer - Email Platforms role at Klaviyo involves joining a high-impact team dedicated to building the next generation of infrastructure to support reliable, scalable, and performant email delivery. Key responsibilities include owning and driving key components of the email pipeline architecture, designing and implementing scalable, high-throughput services in Go, developing systems that manage message queues and email delivery, ensuring systems scale with customer growth, and collaborating cross-functionally to maintain high standards of performance, reliability, and deliverability.

The ideal candidate is a senior-level backend engineer with strong systems design skills, proficient in Go (required) with experience in Python being a plus, experienced in working with high-throughput distributed systems, familiar with message queues such as Pulsar, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS, and comfortable working independently on projects from design through production. Experience with email infrastructure, MTAs, deliverability, or mail operations is a bonus.
