Senior Software Engineer, Conversion
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Conversion Engineering team at Upstart, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the core borrower experiences that drive approximately 80% of the company's revenue. This team focuses on optimizing the borrower journey from rate check to funding, directly impacting the company's conversion rate and overall growth. Upstart is a leading AI lending marketplace committed to reducing the cost and complexity of borrowing for all Americans.
In this role, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of critical, user-facing features aimed at improving loan application and rate check experiences. Your responsibilities will include rapidly iterating on the unified rate page by expanding product coverage, launching new features, and enhancing performance and usability. Additionally, you will contribute to consolidating backend pricing logic into a unified system, improving maintainability and the speed of experimentation across products.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, along with at least four years of experience. You should possess strong frontend development skills focused on building customer-facing web applications with an emphasis on performance, usability, and experimentation. Experience delivering end-to-end features across frontend and backend systems, including APIs and microservices, is essential. Demonstrated ownership of multi-month initiatives from technical design through launch and iteration, as well as experience working in cross-functional environments with Product, Design, and other engineering teams, is highly valued.
