Senior Site Reliability Engineer
As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at EarnIn, you will play a pivotal role in designing, observing, and operating our production systems to ensure high availability and performance. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready features rapidly, contributing to infrastructure, reliability tooling, and practices that facilitate quick and safe deployments. This position is remote from Mexico, with the possibility of being hybrid in our Mexico City office as part of our expanding site.
Your primary responsibilities will include designing systems with resilience, graceful degradation, and capacity in mind. You will define and measure Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs) that accurately reflect customer experiences. Utilizing tools like Datadog and CloudWatch, you will build observability solutions that provide meaningful insights. Additionally, you will configure alerting and routing mechanisms to ensure that when a human gets paged, it truly matters. Continuous improvement of the incident lifecycle, from detection and triage to communication and actionable follow-ups, will also be a key part of your role.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or equivalent industry experience, along with over four years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineering or Software Engineering role. Proficiency in coding with Python and/or Go is essential. You should have proven experience in designing and operating large-scale distributed systems, a deep understanding of SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, and Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR), and the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams. Familiarity with operational tooling and AI-assisted development to reduce toil and streamline workflows is also desired.
