Senior Security Operations Engineer

The Senior Security Operations Engineer at Bitso is a pivotal member of the Security Operations team, responsible for overseeing the vulnerability management function and contributing to various security disciplines. Bitso, a leading cryptocurrency platform in Latin America, is dedicated to making crypto useful by providing secure and intuitive financial products to over 9 million users.

Key responsibilities include managing the end-to-end vulnerability management lifecycle, investigating complex security alerts, participating in on-call rotations for critical incidents, consuming threat intelligence feeds, developing detection use cases, and supporting regulatory compliance audits. The role also involves mentoring junior team members and driving strategic improvements to the security program.

Candidates should have over 5 years of technical experience in security operations, particularly in vulnerability management, and experience in SOC or CSIRT environments. Proficiency with enterprise vulnerability scanning platforms, EDRs, SIEM platforms, and Infrastructure as Code tools is essential. Familiarity with cloud environments, scripting languages, and regulatory compliance frameworks relevant to the Mexican financial sector is also required. Full professional fluency in English and Spanish is necessary.
