Senior RFID Systems Engineer
RADAR is seeking a Senior RFID Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team in San Diego, CA. As a leader in transforming physical retail through cutting-edge technology, RADAR combines RFID and AI to deliver hyper-accurate product visibility and automation at scale. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of advanced RFID systems that enhance inventory tracking and customer experiences for major retail brands.
In this position, you will be responsible for modeling, simulating, and implementing physical-layer (PHY) algorithms in C++. Your day-to-day tasks will include identifying and modeling RF, digital, and channel impairments, validating simulations against lab measurements, and specifying system requirements in collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams. Additionally, you will analyze performance versus implementation trade-offs, design test strategies, troubleshoot issues, and document algorithms for software and RTL designers.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in wireless communications and signal processing, along with a minimum of 2 years of experience simulating end-to-end wireless systems under various RF conditions. Strong proficiency in C++ programming, familiarity with fixed-point design and implementation trade-offs, and excellent root-cause analysis skills are essential. The ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and a detail-oriented, deadline-driven approach are also critical for success in this role.
RADAR offers a competitive compensation package, with an expected base salary range of $130,000 to $175,000, depending on work location, skills, experience, and education.
