Senior Payroll Analyst

Morgan & Morgan, a leading personal injury law firm dedicated to protecting the people, not the powerful, is seeking a Senior Payroll Analyst to join their team in Nashville, Tennessee. This role is integral to the firm's payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and data integrity across multiple states. The Senior Payroll Analyst will collaborate closely with the Human Resources and Finance departments to address complex payroll and tax issues, manage wage garnishments, and support compensation reviews.

In this position, the Senior Payroll Analyst will serve as a subject matter expert, providing guidance on federal, state, and local payroll tax compliance, including multi-state taxation. Responsibilities include overseeing wage garnishments, levies, and court-ordered deductions, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting year-end activities such as data validation and employee tax form inquiries. The role also involves assisting with payroll system enhancements, testing, and compliance updates, as well as identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency.

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or have equivalent experience. A minimum of five years of payroll experience in a multi-state environment is required, along with strong knowledge of employee and employer payroll tax regulations. Experience managing wage garnishments, tax-related escalations, and compensation-related payroll analysis is essential. Proficiency with UKG and Workday payroll systems, advanced Excel skills, and strong analytical capabilities are also necessary.
