Senior Patent Paralegal

Questel, a global leader in intellectual property (IP) solutions, is seeking a Senior Patent Paralegal to join their team. This role offers flexibility with options for full-time or part-time (80%) employment, and can be performed remotely within the UK or in a hybrid setting from offices in Norwich or London. In this position, the Senior Patent Paralegal will collaborate closely with attorneys and the broader paralegal team to provide comprehensive support across all stages of patent prosecution. Key responsibilities include monitoring and processing incoming correspondence, updating records systems to reflect deadlines, preparing and filing official forms via various online portals, handling European Patent (EP) grant formalities, and liaising with clients and foreign associates. Additional duties encompass preparing patent portfolio schedules, assisting with design and utility model formalities, processing refunds, and supporting the finance team with invoice approvals.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience as a patent paralegal, with a strong preference for those holding a Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA) qualification. Essential skills include high proficiency in patent procedures, strong organizational abilities to manage multiple deadlines, meticulous attention to detail in document preparation, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. A proactive approach, ambition for increased responsibility, and a flexible attitude toward work are also highly valued.
