Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting
The Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting at Chainguard will lead revenue accounting, billing, and collections during a critical phase of systems transformation and scale. Reporting to the Controller, this role owns ASC 606 compliance, manages the full quote-to-cash accounting lifecycle, and leads a team of two. This is a hands-on leadership position focused on ensuring accurate revenue recognition, efficient billing practices, and strong controls around the quote-to-cash cycle.
Key responsibilities include leading all aspects of ASC 606 compliance, such as contract review, multi-element arrangements, and variable consideration. The role involves partnering with Sales Ops, Deal Desk, Legal, and FP&A to ensure alignment across the full quote-to-cash cycle. Additionally, the Senior Manager will oversee accounting for accounts receivable, deferred revenue, revenue, and contract assets, ensuring audit readiness through strong documentation, reconciliations, and internal controls.
The ideal candidate will possess an active CPA license and have over seven years of progressive revenue accounting experience with deep ASC 606 expertise. Proven leadership experience managing revenue or billing teams is essential, along with strong NetSuite experience, including Advanced Revenue Management. Hands-on ERP/CRM experience (e.g., Salesforce), experience supporting audits and building revenue documentation, and a demonstrated ability to scale processes in a high-growth SaaS or subscription environment are also required. Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex revenue concepts, are crucial.
