The Senior Manager, Research & Intelligence at Harbor is responsible for leading the delivery of high-quality legal, business, and competitive intelligence services to clients. This role involves overseeing research operations, managing team performance, and ensuring the provision of accurate, timely, and actionable research outputs. The Senior Manager will also drive continuous improvement in research workflows, tools, and service delivery models, while supporting client engagements and internal strategic initiatives. This is a remote position, requiring effective collaboration within a distributed, global team environment.

Key responsibilities include leading the delivery of legal, business, and competitive intelligence research across client engagements, providing oversight on complex research requests to ensure high-quality, accurate outputs, and managing and prioritizing incoming research workflows to ensure timely completion. The role also involves ongoing optimization of research processes, including intake, triage, execution, and delivery, monitoring service performance to identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement, and overseeing staffing, utilization, and workload allocation across research teams. Additionally, the Senior Manager will lead, coach, and develop research and intelligence professionals, support recruitment, onboarding, and training programs, partner with internal teams to align research services with technology, tools, and knowledge systems, and contribute to the development of new services, capabilities, and client solutions.

Candidates should have significant experience in legal, business, or competitive intelligence research within a law firm or professional services environment, with proven experience managing research teams and overseeing service delivery. A strong knowledge of legal and business research tools, such as Westlaw, Lexis, Bloomberg, and other intelligence platforms, is essential. The role requires experience managing multiple priorities and delivering under tight deadlines, along with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to improve processes and drive operational efficiency, as well as experience working in a client-facing or service delivery environment, are also important.
