Senior Manager- Legal Counsel

The Senior Manager, Legal Counsel position at NIQ India is a strategic role within the India Legal team, based in Mumbai with a hybrid work arrangement. The role involves partnering closely with business leaders to guide decision-making and support growth across NIQ’s Commercial business and India Hubs/Centers. The focus is on anticipating legal and regulatory developments and providing counsel that balances innovation with risk management.

Key responsibilities include advising leadership on legal and regulatory issues impacting data, employment, analytics, and operations. The role involves providing guidance on governance, compliance, and risk mitigation to strengthen operational resilience. Additionally, the position requires drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing contracts such as license agreements, master services agreements, and data license agreements. Collaboration with HR on labor and employment matters, managing compliance-related queries, and conducting training sessions on legal and compliance programs are also essential duties.

The ideal candidate is a qualified lawyer with an LLB, and an LLM is considered an advantage. A minimum of 10 years of work experience, preferably in a law firm or multinational corporation, is required. Essential skills include high attention to detail, the ability to challenge the status quo, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and experience in handling employment matters and litigations. A strong interest in emerging legal technologies and process simplification is also desirable.
