Senior Manager, Engineering - Enterprise Audit

Smartsheet is seeking a Senior Manager, Engineering to lead the Enterprise Audit team, focusing on developing and enhancing audit capabilities such as audit trails, admin activity tracking, and audit log APIs. This role is pivotal in ensuring the platform's compliance and security, supporting Smartsheet's mission to empower teams with scalable work management solutions.

The Senior Manager will be responsible for defining and driving the Enterprise Audit roadmap in collaboration with Product, Security, Compliance, and other engineering teams. Key responsibilities include architecting and delivering reliable, secure, and scalable audit systems, embedding security and privacy into all aspects of the audit platform, and establishing operational excellence through monitoring, incident response, and capacity planning. Additionally, the role involves coaching and developing engineers to foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.

Candidates should have over 10 years of experience in software development, including building distributed systems and production services at scale, and at least 5 years of experience managing engineering teams with a strong track record in coaching and delivery. Expertise in designing systems emphasizing data integrity, traceability, and reliability is essential, along with a strong understanding of security fundamentals such as authentication, authorization, and encryption. The ability to partner cross-functionally and deliver through ambiguity is also required.
