Senior Kafka Platform Engineer

Trade Republic is seeking a Senior Kafka Platform Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. As Europe's largest savings platform, we serve over 10 million customers across 18 countries, managing assets exceeding €150 billion. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our Kafka infrastructure to ensure high availability and scalability. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate Kafka solutions that support our real-time data processing needs. Your day-to-day tasks will include monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing configurations to enhance system reliability.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in distributed systems and extensive experience with Apache Kafka. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java or Scala is essential. A deep understanding of event-driven architectures and experience with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP are highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment are crucial.
