Senior Hardware Compliance Engineer
The Senior Hardware Compliance Engineer at Intuitive will be an integral member of the Design Engineering group, focusing on hardware and software development for Intuitive Surgical products. This role involves leading electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and wireless verification, as well as safety testing for both new and existing product platforms. The engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Manufacturing, and Product Support, to address and resolve complex system issues related to EMC, wireless, and safety standards.
Key responsibilities include driving EMC and wireless compliance efforts, developing and executing test plans, and leading interactions with external labs and regulatory agencies to achieve product certifications and approvals. The engineer will also provide technical support for UL Follow-Up Service inspections, maintain accurate documentation of compliance activities, and stay updated on relevant medical standards and testing procedures. Additionally, the role involves offering safety and EMC/wireless input during product development and design activities for new products or upgrades to existing products.
Candidates should possess a strong background in hardware compliance engineering, with experience in EMC and wireless testing, as well as safety standards for medical devices. Proficiency in developing test plans, conducting compliance testing, and interacting with regulatory bodies is essential. The role requires excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects at various development stages and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
Intuitive offers a competitive compensation package, including base salary, incentives, benefits, and equity. The salary range for this position is between $142,900 and $241,900 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
