Senior Engineering Manager, Distribution Platform
Upstart is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead its Distribution Platform team, which focuses on developing innovative solutions for scalable marketing outreach. This team manages key distribution channels, including digital ads, direct mail, and partner integrations, aiming to build an intelligent system that automates and scales customer engagement. In this position, you will define and implement an engineering roadmap to support intelligent and scalable customer outreach across various platforms. Collaborating with cross-functional partners such as Product Managers, Performance Marketing Managers, Analytics, and Research Scientists, you will ensure the program's success. Leading and developing a high-performing engineering team, you will focus on delivering high-quality solutions and continuously improving systems. Utilizing experimentation and data-driven insights, you will refine growth strategies to optimize user outreach and conversion through continuous testing and personalization. Additionally, you will create a best-in-class direct mail and digital infrastructure that scales effectively.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, along with at least 8 years of experience, including a minimum of 3 years in direct people management. Experience leading product-oriented teams with measurable user impact is essential. Strong communication skills are required to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences. Preferred qualifications include experience with systems that integrate with third parties or handle large data volumes, professional experience in marketing technology or growth engineering, a proven track record of leading and expanding engineering teams, success in driving initiatives across multiple teams, and expertise in scaling systems both technically and organizationally.
Upstart offers a competitive compensation package, including base pay, bonus opportunities, and annual equity grants that vest quarterly. The anticipated base salary for this remote position ranges from $195,300 to $270,400 USD, depending on geographic location and individual qualifications.
