Senior Engineering Manager - Code
Harness is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Harness Code business, a strategic component of the company's Continuous Integration (CI) platform. This role involves overseeing the development of the Harness Code Quality hub for developers and agents, combining product ownership, architectural oversight, and close customer collaboration. The successful candidate will define the long-term vision, deliver against strategic outcomes, and orchestrate engineering excellence within a globally distributed team.
Key responsibilities include defining and executing the long-term vision and strategy for Harness Code, building and delivering native Agentic AI workflow integration, and making high-impact decisions in cross-functional environments. The role also involves partnering directly with customers to inform roadmap priorities, leading the delivery of cutting-edge code features such as AI code reviewers and AI agents, and driving security and compliance enhancements. Additionally, the manager will hire, grow, and lead globally distributed engineering teams, providing hands-on architectural leadership and modernizing backend systems with a focus on highly distributed systems, Go, and GCP.
The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of backend software development experience, with at least 6 years leading high-performing engineering or DevOps teams. A proven track record in the software delivery lifecycle domain, hands-on architectural and design leadership, and expertise in building high-throughput platforms and scalable APIs are essential. Familiarity with GCP, Go, and Kubernetes, as well as strong communication and collaboration skills, are also required. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience is necessary.
