Senior Director, Field Engineering (Remote Eligible)
The Senior Director, Field Engineering at Smartsheet leads a team dedicated to translating the platform's capabilities into tangible outcomes for enterprise customers. This role encompasses the entire technical engagement lifecycle for strategic accounts, from pre-sales architecture and technical discovery to integration delivery, deployment, and transition to customer success. The position is remote-eligible, allowing for flexibility in work location.
Key responsibilities include owning the end-to-end technical engagement lifecycle for strategic accounts, designing and overseeing multi-system integrations connecting Smartsheet to platforms like Salesforce, ServiceNow, SAP, Workday, and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, and maintaining senior technical relationships with stakeholders such as CTOs, CIOs, and platform architects. The role also involves partnering with account executives and solutions consultants on strategic opportunities and navigating enterprise security and compliance requirements without losing deal momentum.
The ideal candidate will have 8 to 12 years of enterprise software engineering or solutions engineering experience, with at least 3 years leading customer-facing technical teams. Deep enterprise integration experience across platforms such as Salesforce, ServiceNow, SAP, Workday, Microsoft 365, and REST/GraphQL API patterns is essential. Strong executive communication skills, proven people leadership, and the ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 25–50% of the time are also required. A BS or MS in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent industry experience is necessary.

In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible for a market-competitive incentive opportunity. Benefits include employer-subsidized medical/vision and dental coverage, 401k match, monthly stipend to support work and productivity, flexible time away program, and opportunities for professional growth and development, among others.
