Senior Counsel
Tyson & Mendes LLP is a national litigation firm renowned for its innovative approach to insurance defense and trial advocacy. The firm is seeking a Senior Counsel to join its Sacramento, California office. This role offers experienced attorneys the opportunity to lead high-exposure cases and contribute to the firm's mission of delivering exceptional legal services.
The Senior Counsel will be responsible for developing compelling case themes, independently handling court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials, and collaborating with attorneys at all levels. Key duties include routine client communications, cultivating relationships with existing and future clients, and providing leadership and direction to less experienced attorneys.
Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor from an ABA-approved law school and hold an active California bar license. A minimum of 8 years of solid litigation experience, particularly in litigation support, deposition, and trial preparation, is required. The ideal candidate will have experience managing full case responsibilities, including all facets of discovery and trial, and preferably have a background in insurance defense matters. Proficiency in MS Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, along with strong time management skills, is essential.
The base salary for this position ranges from $160,000 to $190,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Attorneys are eligible for an annual billable hours bonus starting at $10,000, with additional tiers aggregating at $7,500 each.
