Senior Counsel
Tyson & Mendes LLP is seeking a seasoned litigator to join their Las Vegas, NV office as Senior Counsel. This role offers the opportunity to lead high-exposure insurance defense cases within a firm renowned for its innovative strategies and commitment to stopping Nuclear Verdicts®. The successful candidate will become part of a collaborative team dedicated to delivering exceptional legal representation to clients nationwide.
As Senior Counsel, you will develop compelling case themes, independently handle court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials, and work collaboratively with attorneys at all experience levels. Regular communication with clients and cultivating relationships with existing and future clients are key aspects of the role. Additionally, you will provide leadership and direction to less experienced attorneys, fostering their professional growth.
The ideal candidate holds a JD from an ABA-approved law school and is licensed to practice in Nevada. A minimum of 8 years of solid litigation experience, particularly in litigation support, deposition, and trial preparation, is required. Proficiency in managing all facets of discovery and trial, experience with time management systems, and strong skills in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook are essential. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and possess outstanding listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
The base salary for this position ranges from $135,000 to $180,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Attorneys are eligible for an annual billable hours bonus starting at $10,000, with additional tiers aggregating at $7,500 each. Comprehensive benefits include health, vision, dental, and life coverage, with plans available at zero employee cost. The firm offers a 401(k) program with a 100% match on the first 3% contributed and a 50% match on the following 4-5%. Additional perks include student loan repayment assistance or a 529 college savings plan, paid parental leave at base pay, and a monthly technology reimbursement of $60.
