Tyson & Mendes LLP is seeking a Senior Counsel to join their Fort Lauderdale, Florida office. This role offers an opportunity to lead high-exposure insurance defense cases within a firm renowned for its innovative approach and commitment to stopping Nuclear Verdicts®. The position emphasizes autonomy, leadership, and strategic litigation management.

The Senior Counsel will independently handle court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials. Responsibilities include developing compelling case themes, managing all facets of discovery and trial preparation, and maintaining routine communications with clients. Additionally, the role involves providing leadership and direction to less experienced attorneys and cultivating relationships with existing and future clients.

Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor from an ABA-approved law school and hold an active Florida bar license. A minimum of 8 years of solid litigation experience, particularly in litigation support, deposition, and trial preparation, is required. Experience in insurance defense matters is preferred. Proficiency in MS Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, along with strong time management skills, is essential.

The base salary for this position ranges from $150,000 to $190,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Attorneys are eligible for an annual billable hours bonus starting at $10,000, with additional tiers aggregating at $7,500 each.
