Senior Counsel, Employment Law
Wolt is seeking a Senior Counsel specializing in Employment Law to join our global legal team. This role focuses on employment-related matters across the Nordics and Baltics, addressing both traditional employment issues and emerging workforce models. The position is based in Helsinki, Finland, and offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment within a rapidly growing technology company.
The Senior Counsel will provide pragmatic, business-oriented legal advice on employment law matters across multiple jurisdictions. Responsibilities include supporting topics related to employees, independent contractors, and alternative workforce models. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders such as HR, Operations, Policy, and Legal teams to support business initiatives and manage risk. Additionally, the counsel will lead and coordinate external counsel across various jurisdictions, ensuring consistent and high-quality legal advice.
The ideal candidate is a fully qualified lawyer with significant experience in employment law, typically 8+ years, gained in a law firm and/or in-house setting. Proven ability to work autonomously and lead complex, multi-jurisdictional matters is essential. Strong stakeholder management skills are required, with the ability to influence and challenge senior business partners. Experience advising on non-traditional workforce models, such as independent contractors and platform work, is highly valued. Fluency in English is mandatory; additional European languages are a plus.
