Senior Counsel (Complex Trial)

Tyson & Mendes LLP, a nationwide AV-rated litigation firm specializing in insurance defense, is seeking a Senior Counsel to join their Complex Trial Team in Sacramento, CA. In this role, the Senior Counsel will lead complex insurance defense cases, including those involving catastrophic injury, wrongful death, property damage, and professional liability. Responsibilities encompass developing and executing case strategies, managing all stages of litigation, and serving as lead counsel in trials and mediations. Additionally, the Senior Counsel will mentor junior attorneys and collaborate with expert witnesses to strengthen case arguments.

Candidates should possess a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school, an active California license, and at least eight years of experience in insurance defense litigation with a focus on complex trials. Proven success as lead trial counsel in high-stakes cases, strong knowledge of civil procedure and insurance law, and exceptional oral advocacy and negotiation skills are essential. Experience in catastrophic injury, construction defect, or professional liability cases is preferred.

The compensation package includes a base salary ranging from $160,000 to $190,000 annually, depending on experience, with eligibility for annual billable hours bonuses. Comprehensive benefits coverage is offered, including plans available at zero employee cost.
