Senior Backend Engineer

Gong is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team in Tel Aviv. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and implementing complex, scalable, and high-performance backend services and APIs. As part of our engineering team, you'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive our mission of revolutionizing how companies understand their customer interactions.

Your primary responsibilities will include leading the system architecture for backend services, taking end-to-end ownership of major product initiatives from design to delivery, and establishing best practices for code quality, testing strategies, and continuous integration/deployment processes. You'll tackle technical complexities, manage cross-functional dependencies, and implement solutions to ensure system scalability and reliability.

The ideal candidate will have over seven years of experience in large-scale backend development, with a strong emphasis on Java programming. Proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and experience in building scalable microservices architectures are essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent communication abilities, are crucial for success in this role. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
