Security Architect
The Security Architect at Hut 8 plays a pivotal role in shaping and advancing the company's cybersecurity strategy. This position involves designing and implementing enterprise security architectures, leading risk management initiatives, and promoting secure-by-design principles across infrastructure and applications. The role requires a blend of technical expertise and strategic vision to enhance security maturity within an environment that supports AI, colocation, and digital asset operations.
Key responsibilities include developing and evolving the enterprise security architecture to ensure scalability and resilience, aligning with zero-trust principles. The Security Architect will lead vulnerability management efforts, oversee endpoint protection platforms like Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, and conduct threat modeling and security design reviews for new infrastructure and platform initiatives. Additionally, the role involves developing security policies and training programs, managing incident response architectures, driving compliance strategies for frameworks such as SOC 2 and ITGC, and integrating new tools to enhance the security posture.
Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or have equivalent practical experience. A minimum of 7 years in cybersecurity, including at least 3 years in security architecture or engineering leadership roles, is required. Strong understanding of secure system design, cloud architecture, and hybrid environments is essential, with hands-on experience in zero-trust architecture being a significant asset. Familiarity with security frameworks and standards such as CIS, NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, ISO27001, and SOC-2 is expected. Industry certifications like CISSP, CISM, or OSCP, as well as cloud security certifications (e.g., AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer), are advantageous.
