Anthropic is seeking a Regulatory Counsel to lead its legal work on AI regulation in the United States and support its global AI regulatory posture. This role involves providing regulatory-readiness counseling as new laws are developed, offering day-to-day advice once they are in force, and providing legal support for Anthropic's non-contentious engagement with US regulators and standards bodies. While the role is US-focused, AI regulation is inherently global, and the Regulatory Counsel will help ensure a consistent worldwide compliance posture, coordinate closely with colleagues leading EU and international workstreams, and contribute to EU AI Act and other international work where it overlaps with their areas. The position requires working at the intersection of novel legal questions, fast-moving product development, and a high-profile regulatory environment, collaborating cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, Safeguards, Security, Policy, Research, and product teams.
