Principal Software Engineer
Energy Exemplar is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join our Development team in Pune, India. This role reports to the Software Engineering Manager and focuses on delivering high-quality, performant software solutions that address a wide range of customer use cases. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the development of our award-winning software portfolio, including platforms like PLEXOS®, Aurora, and Adapt2.
In this position, you will be responsible for developing software solutions by analyzing information needs, discussing requirements with managers, studying system flows, and identifying problem areas to devise effective solutions. Your day-to-day work will involve following the software development lifecycle to design, develop, and implement software that meets our customers' needs. Additionally, you will mentor junior engineers, ensuring the delivery of quality and performant software designs.
The ideal candidate will have over 9 years of experience in product development, with at least 2 years of recent experience building products on cloud platforms. A strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and performance design is essential. Proficiency in object-oriented programming C#, or relevant technologies, along with experience in SQL Server or other RDBMS, is required. For full-stack roles, hands-on experience with Angular, VueJS, or React is necessary. Experience with microservices architecture, building products for Unix and Windows systems, CI/CD pipelines, AWS/Azure cloud services, asynchronous programming, and WebAPI development is also important. Knowledge of cloud/application security standards (OWASP, PII, GDPR) and a track record of mentoring junior engineers are highly valued.
