Principal Field Marketing Manager, Public Sector
Smartsheet is seeking a Principal Field Marketing Manager to lead strategy and demand orchestration for the Public Sector market. This role serves as a strategic partner to Public Sector sales leadership, focusing on driving pipeline velocity, defining investment strategies, and establishing operational rigor to succeed in complex government and educational accounts. The position reports to the Senior Director of Field Marketing and can be based in Bellevue, WA, or remotely within the United States.
Key responsibilities include achieving pipeline and engagement goals through targeted marketing strategies tailored to State, Local, and Education (SLED) entities. The role involves aligning marketing investments with SLED revenue targets, pipeline gaps, and regional sales priorities, ensuring compliance with government marketing standards. Additionally, the manager will develop and execute regional customer events and campaigns, establish regular pipeline inspection cadences with Public Sector Sales leadership, and create scalable program templates for broader field marketing use.
Candidates should have 7–10+ years of B2B marketing experience, specifically in Field Marketing or Demand Generation, with a preferred focus on the Public Sector (SLED or Federal). A proven track record in driving pipeline creation and revenue impact in high-growth environments with complex procurement cycles is essential. Deep understanding of the government buying journey, including executive-level engagement and tailored messaging for diverse public stakeholders, is required. Proficiency in using Salesforce and Tableau for pipeline analysis and executive reporting is also necessary. B2B SaaS experience is strongly preferred.
Smartsheet offers a competitive base salary range of $147,500 to $192,500 USD, determined by factors such as professional experience, education, skills, and location.
