Principal Architect ( Agentic AI Platform & Systems )

Experian is seeking a Principal Architect to lead the development of a shared Agentic AI Platform, enabling teams across the enterprise to design, deploy, and operate AI-powered agents and workflows safely, consistently, and at scale. This role combines hands-on engineering with platform architecture, emphasizing reuse, cohesion, and long-term sustainability. The position is based in Hyderabad and reports to the Director of Engineering.

Key responsibilities include designing and building foundational platform capabilities for agentic AI systems, such as orchestration, lifecycle management, memory patterns, runtime policy, and human-in-the-loop controls. The role also involves establishing agent discovery, registration, and reuse mechanisms, defining durable architectural patterns for multi-agent coordination, and designing secure-by-default architectures that embed governance, policy enforcement, auditability, and access control into agentic systems and AI workflows.

The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in designing, building, and operating complex, cloud-native software systems in production environments, with depth in platform, infrastructure, or distributed systems. Strong first-principles and systems thinking are essential, along with proficiency in Python (and/or Java or Scala) for building backend services. Experience with public cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and a proven ability to drive architectural alignment across teams through technical influence and hands-on collaboration are also required.
