Platform Product Manager - Discovery Platform
As a Platform Product Manager for the Discovery Platform at Canva, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the search and discovery experience for over a quarter of a billion users each month. The Discovery Group is dedicated to ensuring users spend more time designing and less time searching, by building powerful, reliable, and scalable search capabilities. This position is integral to developing and maintaining the core indexing and querying frameworks that all of Canva's search systems rely on.
In this role, you will define and own the platform vision, roadmap, and priorities for the Discovery Platform, aligning them with company-wide goals. You will collaborate closely with user-facing Discovery teams to ensure the platform evolves to meet their needs and scale requirements. Engaging proactively in early-stage product discovery discussions, you will ensure the platform's capabilities and constraints are considered before key decisions are made. Additionally, you will identify opportunities to streamline services, promote innovative solutions to recurring challenges, and evolve search and recommendation systems to meet advanced enterprise needs, leveraging the latest AI technologies.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background with a deep understanding of platforms, software development, and current technology trends. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential, enabling effective work with both technical and non-technical teams. A strategic thinker with a proven track record of successfully executing large-scale projects in technical platforms, cloud services, or related areas is preferred. Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth tech environment is advantageous. Bonus experience includes building search infrastructure and working with vector databases.
