Payroll Specialist Lead - Australia

The Payroll Specialist Lead for Australia will join the Global Payroll Operations Team, playing a pivotal role in managing payroll processes and ensuring compliance within the Australian market. In this role, the Payroll Specialist Lead will act as the primary subject matter expert for Australia, overseeing end-to-end payroll processing, including statutory filings, approvals, payments, and compliance. The position involves managing relationships with key stakeholders across Payroll Implementation, Finance, Product, and Engineering teams. Additionally, responsibilities include maintaining data integrity, performing accounting reconciliations, focusing on key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs), implementing process improvements, mentoring payroll specialists, and providing support during regional managers' absences.
Candidates should possess in-house payroll management experience or equivalent, with a strong understanding of payroll best practices. Proficiency in software tools such as SAP, Excel, and Google Sheets is essential. An analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills, adaptability to a fast-paced international environment, and a passion for making an impact are key attributes. The role requires the ability to work asynchronously and fluently in English. While prior remote work experience is advantageous, it is not mandatory.
The annual salary for this full-time position ranges from $102,100 to $114,900 AUD, reflecting Remote's commitment to fair and competitive compensation.
