National Broadcast Buying Associate
The National Broadcast Buying Associate at WPP Media is responsible for the timely and accurate execution of national broadcast media buys, encompassing both radio and television. This role is pivotal in translating approved client strategies into effective media placements, ensuring all campaigns are meticulously monitored, optimized, and delivered according to plan and budget. The Associate's impact lies in their ability to secure optimal media value, verify precise media execution, manage ongoing optimizations and compensations, and contribute to the overall efficiency and success of national advertising initiatives through diligent execution and financial oversight.
Key responsibilities include using available tools to recommend optimized campaigns that meet or exceed client KPIs, creating media schedules for review and approval, monitoring and managing clients' budgets and campaign KPIs, and creating material instructions for smooth delivery to vendors. The Associate will also implement campaigns according to agreed timelines and deliverables, assist in preparing in-flight and post-campaign reports, and work closely with team members to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Establishing effective collaboration with media vendors and staying updated on new tools and delivery technologies to maximize campaign performance are also essential.
The ideal candidate will possess a professional degree in fields such as Advertising, Marketing, Social Communication, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Public Accounting, or related disciplines. A minimum of one year of experience in a media agency, specifically in buying or planning roles, or relevant internship experience is required. Technical skills include proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office tools, familiarity with media planning and buying tools (e.g., IBOPE, MXM), strong analytical skills for budget analysis and optimization, and an understanding of media negotiations and rate verification. Effective monitoring, optimization, and reconciliation of media campaigns, experience in generating purchase orders and managing campaign closures, and knowledge of SOX controls and compliance are also important. Intermediate to advanced English proficiency is necessary.
